**Job Description** BAE Systems is seeking an on-site VMware and Storage System Administrator to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate. This position is responsible for installation, configuration, and maintain of the virtual machine infrastructure and the storage area network (SAN).As a VMware and Storage Administrator you will install, configure, harden, patch, tune, and upgrade the VMware infrastructure and storage area network infrastructure counting ESXI hosts and VMware vCenter and other virtual appliances. Associated tasks include: + Monitor the performance of the infrastructure and tune virtual machines, storage, and hardware + Harden the virtual machine infrastructure and storage area network infrastructure in accordance with System Security Policies and DISA STIGs + Maintain fiber channel storage area network, including network switches and block storage devices + Assist with Dell/EMC professional services to deploy and configure network storage devices + Troubleshoot storage network hardware and software, including VM based backup software + Track and report on storage consumption and storage availability. Assist with planning storage expansion + Configure, modify, and optimize storage LUNs to support customer operations + Configure, deploy, and maintain backup software, backup hardware, and LTO tape devices + Troubleshoot issues to restore operations + Create technical documentation to include technical instructions and technical designs **and the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP)** Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. We develop, engineer, manufacture, and support products and systems to protect national security and keep people safe. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and at least four years of work experience, or equivalent position specific work experience. + An IAT II certification as specified in the DoD 8570 + Or, have a SECNAV 5239 qualifying degree AND meet the requirements for an IAT II as specified in the DoD 8570 within 6 months of start date + Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer s facility, and a SSP network account in good standing + Hands on experience with VMware infrastructure, VMware hosts, and VMware virtual machines + Hands on experience with Storage Area Networks, fiber channel switches, and zone configurations. + Experience with EMC Unity and Dell Power Protect appliances a plus. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and government officials **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and at least four years of work experience + Experience hardening systems in accordance with DISA s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
