We have an opening for an Experienced Electrical Estimator to join our pre-construction team in the Fort Walton Beach, FL area.

Job Summary: As an Experienced Estimator at Barts Electric, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of our projects by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. Your expertise will support our project managers and clients by ensuring that all aspects of project costs are meticulously evaluated and managed. This role requires a deep understanding of industry standards, construction practices, and market conditions to deliver precise and reliable estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Estimation:

  • Plan and Spec Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope. Utilize various estimating software and tools to prepare comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Design Build and Design Assist Cost Estimating: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing design narratives and basic floor plans. Identify scope gaps, value alternatives, pricing and escalation concerns.
  • Budgetary Assistance: Aid in the development of early budgetary assistance to our customers. Develop square footage budgets based on previous historical data.
  • Project Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation, including contracts and drawings, to identify potential cost impacts and risks. Provide insights and recommendations to mitigate financial risks.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Negotiate terms and ensure that all bids align with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • · Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and cost implications. Provide support and expertise during project planning and execution.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports and cost breakdowns to senior management and clients. Ensure that estimates are submitted in a timely manner and meet company standards.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies that may impact cost estimation and project execution.

Position Qualifications

  • Education: Added consideration given for a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, and/or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in the Electrical Industry. Demonstrated track record of successfully estimating complex projects that value from an Electrical Package of $5,000,000.00 and above.
  • Skills:
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., McCormick) and Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of cost estimation techniques, construction methods, and materials.
  • Analytical Abilities: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits as required.
  • Standard office hours with occasional overtime during peak bid periods.
