With a joint venture between the J.R. Simplot Company and KWS, a team of breeders and scientists are reinventing potatoes as a diploid hybrid crop. We are creating the potatoes of the future, together developing diploid hybrid potatoes. We believe that our hybrid potatoes based on true potato seed will address the challenges of potato production of the future. We currently have a position available located at Boise, ID that will support inbred line production in potato.
This position entails doubled haploid production from donor plant to DH plantlet regeneration. The position will support and work with breeders, to provide in vitro and doubled haploid potato plant for diploid hybrid potato breeding .
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in agricultural or biological science
