Job Description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Shift:Afternoon (After 3PM)

Required:
Active RBT Certification from BACB.

A Registered Behavior Technician , or RBT, is responsible for assisting behavioral analysis teams in evaluating mental health patients and their conditions over a specific timeframe, working closely with a Board Certified Behavior Analysts to ensure quality care for our clients.

A successful Registered Behavior Technician needs various technical and interpersonal skills to excel in this role. First, these professionals need to complete years of education and training to develop skills like psychology and social work. This also covers things like collecting data and conducting interviews. Second, Registered Behavior Technicians need various people skills to help them communicate and connect with patients.

This includes skills like:
  • Communication skills.
  • The ability to empathize with patients and their family members.
  • The ability to remain professional in high-stress situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Listening and reasoning skills.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct client care in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Following the behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols.
  • Collecting and recording data based on client behavior.
  • Communicating with clients, parents, and caregivers regarding client progress.
  • Assisting behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition.
  • Assisting behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts in the preparation of client materials.
