Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Margaret Mary Catholic School in Omaha is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated 2nd-grade teacher to join our vibrant elementary faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about guiding students in both faith and academics, with a commitment to fostering spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth in a nurturing environment. At St. Margaret Mary, teachers partner closely with families and colleagues to support the mission of Catholic education and the development of the whole child.

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum and Archdiocesan standards.
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
Integrate Catholic values and teachings into instruction, classroom routines, and community life.
Assess, record, and communicate student progress effectively with parents and guardians.
Collaborate with fellow teachers, instructional specialists, and administration to support student learning.
Participate in school Masses, liturgies, service projects, and community events.
Engage in professional development and contribute positively to the school’s mission and spirit.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (required).
Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate (or in process of obtaining).
Safe Environment certification through the Archdiocese of Omaha (required before start date).
Experience in elementary or early childhood instruction preferred.
Familiarity with Catholic faith formation, including preparation for Sacraments, is a plus.
