Job Description

Dog Daycare Attendant
District Dogs Clarendon LLC – Arlington, VA (or any of our locations — whichever is most convenient for you!)

At District Dogs, we provide city pups with a safe, clean, and engaging space to play while their parents are away. Our team keeps tails wagging, playgroups safe, and pet parents confident that their dogs are getting the best care possible.

We're looking for a Dog Daycare Attendant who loves dogs, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining the high standards that define District Dogs.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

  • Supervise Playgroups:  Monitor dogs during play to ensure safety, manage group dynamics, and keep the energy positive and controlled.
  • Observe and Report:  Notice changes in behavior, appetite, or health — communicate observations clearly to managers so every dog receives the care they need.
  • Support Daily Operations:  Assist with check-ins, feedings, cleaning, and accurate documentation of each dog's day.
  • Work as a Team:  Collaborate with your fellow attendants and managers to maintain smooth operations and clear communication.
  • Engage with Pet Parents:  Provide friendly, informative updates and answer questions with professionalism and care.
  • Be Ready to Jump In:  Help with walks, grooming prep, or cleaning as needed — flexibility keeps our space running smoothly.
  • Keep It Clean:  Maintain spotless play areas and a sanitary environment for both dogs and staff.

Who We're Looking For

  • You genuinely love dogs and enjoy being around them all day.

  • You stay calm and focused in busy, high-energy settings.

  • You can read dog body language and understand group dynamics.

  • You're dependable, punctual, and take responsibility seriously.

  • You communicate clearly and thrive in a team environment.

  • You're comfortable lifting, cleaning, and staying on your feet throughout the day.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Experience in dog daycare, kennel, veterinary, or shelter environments.

  • Customer service or hospitality experience where multitasking and communication were essential.

  • Hands-on pet care experience such as dog walking, pet sitting, grooming, or training.

Perks and Pay

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience

  • Paid sick leave

  • Free daycare for your own dog

  • Opportunities to advance into Shift Supervisor or Grooming roles

  • Flexibility to work at any of our District Dogs locations

How to Apply

If you're ready to spend your days surrounded by dogs and great teammates, we'd love to meet you.
Send your resume and a brief note about why you'd be a great fit.

District Dogs is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
