**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced 2nd shift diesel mechanic to join our team for a long-term position. The ideal candidate will have the ability to repair and fix large and heavy-duty diesel trucks. This position offers the opportunity to learn a variety of skills on diesel trucks in an independent retail shop environment. **Responsibilities** + Repair and maintain large and heavy-duty diesel trucks. + Utilize mechanical aptitude to diagnose and fix issues. + Work with various diesel engine brands. + Collaborate with a team of experienced mechanics. **Essential Skills** + 2+ years of experience as a mechanic (auto or diesel). + 1+ year of experience with brands such as Detroit, CAT, or Mercedes. + Possession of a set of hand and air tools. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Diesel or auto mechanic certifications preferred. + Tech school degree is a plus. **Why Work Here?** This family-owned business has been a cornerstone in the Minneapolis, MN trucking industry for 40 years. The facility is an authorized OEM dealer for parts and repairs for Caterpillar, Detroit engines, and others. With a team of 10-12 mechanics, the shop offers a collaborative and learning-friendly atmosphere where you can hone your skills on a variety of engine work. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
