Job Summary

We are looking for a

Climbing Arborist

Apprenticeto join our team. This role involves learning to perform tree climbing, pruning, and removals using industry-standard climbing techniques, ropes, and rigging systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working at heights, has experience with or is eager to learn advanced climbing and aerial tree care techniques, and is committed to safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform climbing-based tree care operations, including pruning, removals, and aerial inspections.
• Use proper climbing techniques, ropes, saddles, and safety gear to ascend and work in trees.
• Operate chainsaws, rigging equipment, and other industry tools safely and efficiently.
• Assist with ground operations when necessary, including rigging, chipping, and debris cleanup.
• Inspect trees for disease, structural weaknesses, and potential hazards.
• Communicate with the crew to ensure efficient and safe job completion.
• Adhere to and enforce strict safety procedures, including the use of PPE and industry best practices.
• Maintain and inspect climbing gear and equipment regularly.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable working at heights of 60' or more.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willing to submit for drug testing prior to start date.
• Prior experience in tree climbing, arboriculture, or related field preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of knots, rigging techniques, and climbing systems (preferred but not required).
• ISA Certification or other industry credentials (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
