Position Title: Certified Medical Coder – Outpatient & Emergency Department
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Type: Contract | 13-Week Assignment
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: $35 – $37 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Certified Medical Coder – Outpatient & Emergency Department for an exciting job in Bronx, NY.
Responsibilities:Perform accurate and compliant coding for outpatient and ED encounters.
Utilize ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder systems to code diagnoses and procedures.
Ensure coding meets federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines.
Research and resolve coding-related issues to support revenue cycle accuracy.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
Participate in coder training and quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience in an acute care environment.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 , CPT-4 , and federal billing guidelines.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel , and Encoder applications (3M/HDS) .
Experience with EPIC and 3M systems is required .
Familiarity with both inpatient and outpatient coding preferred.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Must hold CCS certification (RHIA, RHIT, or CCP credentials are a plus).
