BUS MONITOR/PROGRAM AIDE (6-8 hours per week)
Job Description:
YWCA of Lowell seeks an experienced individual to join our Youth Center team. As a Bus Monitor/Aide, you will supervise and monitor school-age children entering and exiting our mini school bus 2 afternoons per week (total of 5- 8 hours). You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and enriching environment for children during their trip to and from the program. Additional tasks supporting classroom teachers during programing may be available.

What You Will Do:
● Serve as bus monitor during transportation to and from program in YWCA mini-bus.
●Supervise bus loading and unloading
●Maintain detailed and accurate bus attendance.
● Prepare materials for planned activities.
● Supervise assigned children at all times during program hours.
● Work with participants individually or in small groups during activities, including academic support.
● Provide extra help to participants with physical, cognitive, emotional, or linguistic challenges.
● Coordinate with program leaders to determine daily tasks.
● Prepare snacks for participants.
● Learn and fully understand program policies and procedures to ensure consistent compliance.
● Attend all staff meetings and staff trainings.
● Perform routine classroom clean-up as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications :
● Must be available to work Tuesday and Thursday, 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm
● High school diploma or GED required
● Associate degree in education or related field preferred
● Minimum 3 years of experience working with elementary school-age children in an educational or other relevant group setting
● Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance required
● Successful completion of CORI and SORI required
● FA and CPR Certified or willing to obtain upon hire.
● 2 professional references required

Compensation: $18 - $22/hour, 6-8 hours per week
