Akkodis is seeking an Azure Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in Bellevue, WA. Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with Fabric, ADF, and PySpark to design ETL pipelines, optimize data models, and support Power BI reporting.
Rate Range: $56/hour to $57/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Azure Data Engineer job responsibilities include:
Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse to support batch and incremental data ingestion.
Develop and optimize lakehouse architectures leveraging OneLake, SQL, and PySpark for scalable, enterprise-level analytics.
Perform data transformation, enrichment, and modeling using PySpark notebooks and SQL to deliver high-quality, analytics-ready datasets.
Implement semantic data models and Power BI integrations to enable self-service analytics and business reporting.
Ensure data security, governance, and compliance by applying role-based access, managed identities, and Microsoft Purview policies.
Monitor and optimize performance, cost efficiency, and reliability of Fabric workloads by analyzing Synapse DMVs and implementing proactive alerting mechanisms.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of hands-on experience working as an Azure Data Engineer with enterprise-scale data platforms.
Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, ETL, and PySpark for data integration and analytics.
Proven experience in implementing secure, scalable data architectures, enabling Power BI reporting, and collaborating with customers to deliver analytics solutions.
