Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible to telework up to three (3) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under close supervision of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) in the Accounts Payable Production Unit, the Accountant Trainee performs, in a learning capacity, accounts payable and accounting activities at the entry level for assigned DGS program offices and client agencies. The Accountant Trainee performs all tasks in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services (OFS) guidelines, Governor’s Budget, Department of Finance rules and regulations, State Controller's Office policies, California Department of Human Resources policies, State Administrative Manual, and state and federal laws.
